"I'm going to heaven bc I have a Jesus tattoo"

Out sharing the gospel the other night, and a guy was asked would he get to heaven if he died tonight. He said yes bc he had a Jesus tattoo. It was really confusing and I thought he was joking except he wasn't laughing. But he walked off and of course I thought of the best response about 10 minutes too late.

Anyway, though I do not think he was serious, the sad truth is that he didn't know how to get to heaven yet just walked off. Which is the same that I would have done 10 years ago if God didn't change my heart. Praying this guy turns towards the true Jesus of the bible...

The Bible series on the History Channel... Thumbs DOWN!

Today, there was nothing on, so I decided to take a look at The Bible series on the History Channel and see what all the fuss is about. Well in less than 5 minutes, I saw that they COMPLETELY changed the Word of God. This is a review of the twist of scripture, and why it matters.
In the show, Abraham said to Isaac "Don't worry son, God will provide the sacrifice."
Yet in the bible, it says this-
  • 'Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together."- Genesis 22:8
Now I looked up every possible translation and they ALL say LAMB

Then the History channel story went on to Abraham not sacrificing Isaac...then together in the show then they found a lamb. What does the bible say? Check it out-
  • "Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. "- Genesis 22:13 (emphasis added)
So why does it matter? Lamb, Ram, does it really make a difference? Those seem to be small mistakes but #1 They are changing the very Word of God! And God said it was supposed to be the way He wrote it and He did it for a reason  #2 Why did they change it? It almost seems like they went out of their way on purpose to change it. Please sit and think about this one for a while if you happened to stumble on this blog. Why would they go out of their way to change the Word of God?

Why does this all matter? Because in the Bible, Abraham says God will provide the LAMB yet they sacrificed a RAM. Yet no one seems to catch it. Why?  Because Abraham was talking about Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check it out below in the New Testament:
  • "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29 (emphasis added)
When Abraham said Lamb, he was most likely speaking of Jesus who was to come and fulfill the Old Testament prophesies! So basically, the History channel is looking to take out Jesus and how the entire old testament points to Him! Amen!!!! Jesus has come to be our lamb "but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."- 1 Peter 1:19

Lastly, let's look at what Revelations says-
  • For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.
Overall, THUMBS DOWN!

Does anyone actually read the bible?

It hit me at the end of my first year of dedicating my life to Jesus, I wondered ... does anyone actually read the bible? ... Because it seemed to me, being a new believer, that many people were just relying on what they have been taught their whole lives without actually examining the Word of God themselves to see if what they have been taught it's true.

I came to this realization when I read the entire bible for the first time on a one year bible plan. I was actually SHOCKED at some of the things I read because they completely contradicted many things I was taught my entire life. And we know that the bible is 100% right, so that means everything I was taught that contradicted it was wrong! Another thing that surprised me was how completely awesome reading the bible is! I thought it would be boring, or I wouldn't like it (because I'm more of a visual person so it's hard for me to read a lot), but that wasn't the case at all!

I was mesmerized by the stories of Jonah and Joseph and even the laws in the old testament are so interesting! Another thing that surprised me is that the movie "10 commandment" or "The Prince of Egypt" isn't really that close to what the bible says as I would have liked.

Last week while witnessing, I met a young man and asked him how to get to heaven. He looked kind of shocked and wasn't able to answer. I said 'what if I had 2 minutes to live and was pleading with you to help me into heaven", He finally said "I will pray for you!" I told him that won't help me at all. He then said that he actually teaches CCD classes to students. I was pretty shocked and told him that the bible says "Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly."- James 3:1

And that if he was telling the wrong thing to children about God, then he would be judged more strictly, and that if I was telling him the wrong thing then I would be judged more strictly as well. And he said that he was afraid...

So folks reading this, I hope you know that I take sharing the gospel seriously, and if I have said anything in anyway that does not point to Jesus dying for our sins please call me out! PLEASE correct me, please yell at me or do anything you can to fix it, because I will be judged more strictly than others and that terrifies me! As it should!

To the left is a photo of two girls I got to witness to :) Please pray for them <3 God bless!

Jesus vs 247 million people, who is telling the truth?

According to a statistic, 247 million in the United States identify themselves as Christians about 79.5% of adults.

Jesus says "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."- Matthew 7:13-14

Jesus says only a FEW find it. So I ask you now, who is telling the truth? The millions and millions of "christians" claiming to follow Jesus, or Jesus Himself saying only a few?

I believe Jesus!

  • "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."- Matthew 7:22-25

That's why the bible says "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?"- 2 Corinthians 13:5

Parable of the Sower

Last night was AMAZING! One of the best nights in a long long time. We were out witnessing for a while longer than usual as well. Hopefully, I will get a chance to write about more of the people I spoke with but now I'm just going to write about Jennifer and Joe. The night reminded me of Matthew chapter 13 in the bible where it says this:

  • “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Shortly after we arrived, a gentleman named Joe was insisting to speak with an evangelist named John. He even waited for quite some time to speak with him. After their conversation, John told me that Joe wanted Jesus to forgive his sins and that the gospel made sense to him, and Joe said he was going to go home and pray to ask Jesus to be his Savior.

I was pretty excited! But also a little reluctant to assume anything because only God knows someones heart. Joe also had an atheist friend with him that didn't want to come within 20 feet of us and was staring at us from a distance. Over an hour later, Joe came back and starting mocking another evangelist. You could tell he was getting REALLY upset about things. He referenced the beatles song "let it be", and he started yelling that "if Jesus was here right now, he would say just enjoy life!". I then told him what Jesus says in the bible

  • "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"- Matthew 16:26

*James 5:5 says "You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter."

*Matthew 6:20 says "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

*There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death."- Proverbs 14:12

The good thing is that Joe at least seemed like he wanted to know the answers and he had a lot of good questions.

We also met a young lady named Jennifer who I handed a bible tract to, and she came back and spoke with John! It was amazing and though I didn't hear what they said, you could tell God was really moving in her heart! I really pray that she continues to draw close to Jesus and God keeps working in her life. It was really a blessing meeting her! Overall, it was an amazing night and I'm just so honored that God allows us to share His good news!

The movie industry vs The Bible

Hey fellow sinners, and those redeemed :)

It's been a while since I've posted. Things have just been slow lately. I'm not sure if it's the weather or lack of motivation. I keep working for things that are fading away. I am reminded of this verse "

  • For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing."- Romans 7:19

Anywho, the other night my Husband and I were flipping through the channels and there was nothing on (what else is new) hehe. And we turned onto TCM (Turner Classic Movies). For some reason, I've always enjoyed watching movies from the 40s and 50s because though it seems quite glamourous... you realize they are just as sinful and messed up as we are today!

It got me thinking...the first time I saw "Breakfast at Tiffany's" my mouth literally dropped! It's about prostitution! Even films such as "Dirty Dancing" that I saw when I was a child is basically glorifying abortion. Though I didn't even know what abortion was at the time that I first saw it. I feel like we are literally being brain washed by these movies. Check it out:

Dirty Dancing- glorifies abortion
Casablanca- glorifies adultery
The Wizard of Oz- glorifies witchcraft
etc... the list can go on forever

Now I'm not just talking about "sins" being in movies because we are in a sinful world so EVERY movie has sinning. The difference is, these movies teach that it's ok even "good", when it is definitely not!

The movie we saw on TCM that day was called "Captain from Castille". I have NEVER heard of it, never saw it but immediately it caught my eye due to it's religious undertones. It's about a Captain in Spain during the inquisition who travels to Mexico with Cortez and flees for his life.

The Captain was speaking with a native american and the native said "I'm not sure why you try to talk to us about your God, we probably have the same "god" just a different name" and the Captain said "You are probably right".

I ALMOST LITERALLY FELL OFF THE COUCH! The same lie they teach now is the same lie they were telling people in 1947. We do NOT have the same God. Jesus alone is LORD and savior!

  • "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."- Acts 4:12
If you don't know Jesus and you are reading this, you have to decide if Jesus is who He claims to be. He says "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."- John 14:6

Because if Jesus is who He claims, it requires a decision on your part. "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."- Joshua 24:15

Head knowledge of the bible vs. a change of heart

Whilst handing out the Biggest Question Gospel DVD several weeks ago, we ran into a Princeton University theologian priest. I asked him "how do you get to heaven?". He answered and said "you take your wings and fly away" or something similar to that.

I was quite shocked, and wasn't sure if he was joking around, so I kept trying to ask him to please tell me. He accused me of not being sincere, but I really wanted to know what his thoughts were since he spent so much time reading about theology and the bible. He refused to give me an answer and it made me really sad. The #1 thing I always want to talk about is Jesus, always!

When I started to ask him if he believes Jesus when He says He is the only way, and the priest said yes but was saying how he didn't think you had to follow all of the bible, or something like that. It was very confusing to see someone with so much head knowledge, really not understand why Jesus came.

It really got me thinking that it's one thing to know the bible, but it's another thing to KNOW the Author.

Yesterday, I found a paper I wrote in college in my "intro to religion" class. I took this class when I was not a Christian. And clearly written on the pages was how Jesus died for our sins to pay the debt we could never pay!

I was SHOCKED!!!!! I knew that "head knowledge" before I became a Christian, I just didn't understand it and I didn't actually KNOW Jesus.

If you are reading this and don't really know Jesus, please ask Him to help you...

"I'm not sorry for my sins"

You know that moment when someone says something to you, they walk away, and then you thought of the best come back like 5 minutes later of what you SHOULD have said?

Well this happened the other night while witnessing! We were sharing the gospel at one of our "fishing holes" and I gave this man a gospel tract. He said "It's too late, I already gave my soul to someone else" or something like that. And our Brother John said "I know someone who can break that". And then the man said "Well I'm not sorry for my sins... well not all of them". And then he walks away.

It kind of caught me off guard because the majority of people we speak with never admit they actually have sins. This is why we do the "good person" test with them to show them that ALL of us have sinned.

Anyway, so he walks away and another Brother says "You will be sorry"...

We really wish we would have said it to that man! :(

The Biggest Question Princeton University

Praise God for the awesome opportunity to hand out gospel DVD's called "The Biggest Question" at Princeton University (aka one of the darkest places spiritually I've ever been). I pray that all who got to watch the DVD will have their hearts open to repenting and putting their trust in Jesus alone!

February Fishing

We had a great night sharing the gospel!!! Praise Jesus! "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."- Matthew 4:19

I'm still amazed that God allows us to go out and share the gospel and He uses sinners to share His message. It was a great night yet again and I honestly wish I could do this every single day of my life!

I got to speak with Diana who is a young lady I spoke to about a year ago. I see her almost every time I go out and I'm terrible with names but God really ingrained her name so I say hi every time I see her. This time she was with her boyfriend Juan (both pictured below), and I got to share the gospel with both of them again. It's really cool how Jesus keeps bringing her back and I really pray she repents and puts her trust in Jesus. She seems very sweet and kind hearted.

One of the more interesting conversations of the night was with an older gentleman who had a traumatic brain injury and has very short term memory. He said he was Jewish and he's too old to change his views now. I asked him what does he do to atone for his sin, and he said they do Rosh Hoshana where they fast and pray. I asked him what he thought about the old testament verse 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.'- Leviticus 17:11.

That it says blood makes atonement. He said he would take some tracts and read them and I was thankful for that. He really made me think about how we shouldn't take things for granted because one minute he was normal then the next he had a traumatic brain injury and couldn't think about these important things much anymore. But he was a really sweet guy and I really pray God reveals the truth to him that can only be found in Jesus.

One young lady I spoke with, maybe 14, her name was Kara. She read a tract I gave her and then came over and started telling me she was an atheist and didn't believe any of that. I started going through some things with her and at first she was really mocking me but towards the end of the conversation, it seemed like she was really thinking about these things and listening intently. Her friends pulled her away, but I know that God is in charge of all things and I just pray that she repents and trusts in Jesus. She seemed really sweet and had bright pink and colored hair.

I also spoke with a young man with big curly hair and he said his parents were methodist but he was an atheist. I started going through with him the flaws in the big bang theory and evolution and I really wish I gave more scripture to him. But he kept a tract so hopefully God is working in him.

Towards the end of the night I spoke with two young ladies Olivia and Ashley. I took them through the law and then shared the gospel that only Jesus can save. Olivia seemed to really be listening and I brought up the fact that any time we lie we know it's wrong yet we do it anyway. We ignore our conscience and keep sinning.

We also had a new fisherman last night that had some good conversations so overall it was a wonderful night! We also ran into several other Christians and it was just an encouragement to speak with them and hand out tracts with them.

We handed out like 1200 gospel tracts/dvds I was having a great night until I looked into the garbage can and saw like a hundred tracts. It made me really sad until I spoke with my wonderful hubby and he said that even if they just read the title of the tract, it gets them thinking about these important questions so it really does its job. The thing about almost all of us, is that we don't want to think about death. It's the last thing anyone brings up until it happens. So it's really good even if they just think about it for a second because maybe then they will ask where will they go after?

Overall, I know I have to stop worrying about people and know that I cannot save ANYONE. I am NOTHING and God is EVERYTHING. And not only that, God doesn't need us! But allows us to share the good news of Jesus Christ. It's amazing! Praise God!!

In His name,

Kay

2 Timothy 2:15 and the Hebrew Roots CULT movement

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."- 2 Timothy 2:15KJV

It seems like there is a new cult popping up every week! I keep hearing about all these strange "christian" teachings such as the Hebrew Roots movement, Christian reconstructivism, word of faith movement, etc...

That's why it's SOOOO important to constantly be in the bible(which I need to do more of) so we can know what is true, and what is a lie.

The problem with these movements is that they mix truth with lies, so it can kinda sound right but something is off. So this week I'll be going into the Hebrew roots movement and why it's not sound and a cult which adds works to what Jesus did.

We are saved by the blood of Jesus alone! That's it! It's kind of like in passover when the Hebrews put blood on their doors so that the wrath of God would pass over them. Now imagine if a Hebrew back then would say "well I know I was told that the blood alone saves, but I'm going to mix it with something I made JUST IN CASE". That's not going to save you!

I actually talked to THREE hebrew roots movement cult members in the past month. They tell Christians to live under mosaic law and to observe special holidays, kosher eating (no pork), Sabbath on a saturday, etc...

Here are some questions I would ask a HRM cult member.

1) How many animal sacrifices do you do today? "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."- James 2:10

2) You say pork is unclean? What about Acts 10:15 "The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

3) You say that the OT was originally written in Hebrew, how can you trust ANY of it then since you don't have the original texts?

4) Colossians 2:16-17 & Romans 14:5 state observing holidays and such are a personal choice not required.

5) How do you please God? How are you saved? Was it by obeying the law or by Faith in Jesus Christ? (Galatians 3:5)

"For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are."- Romans 3:20

Sharing the gospel!

Praise God for an awesome night sharing the gospel the other day. I got to speak with these young ladies (who gave permission to put this photo up). And overall, it was a great night! I don't have the full list of people I talked to in front of me so hopefully I will put that up soon in detail. But one thing that really stood out to me is a random conversation I had with a young gentlemen. He laughed and said "Isn't God like santa claus where he puts your good and bad deeds on a scale and you hope you did more good than bad".

It really upset me because this awful lie of santa is distorting people's views of the true God. Our bad deeds are so bad that we can never make up for them.  In the old testament it says "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away."- Isaiah 64:6

The original text for "filthy rags" is actually menstrual rags! How gross! And that's how our "good" deeds are in God's eyes because we aren't doing them to glorify Him, but to glorify ourselves.

For example, I remember when I was younger and didn't believe in God, I did a lot of volunteer work and it was ALWAYS to make myself feel better. So I can tell people what I did or know that I helped someone. It was nothing to do with God! It was all about me and chasing a feeling.

The thing is that our sin is so bad there is no "cosmic" scale (this is what the majority of all other religions teach, but it's not true). We are all GUILTY. We all deserve hell. I deserve hell! But God in His mercy sent His only son Jesus that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life! Wow! Amazing how much He did for us! And to accept that free gift we have to repent and believe in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of our sins. And then follow him as our Lord and Savior.

I often hear this example. If you lie to your parents, what happens? You get in trouble. If you lie to a police officer you go to jail for a short time. If you lie to the President of the US you go to jail probably forever. See the penalty is different depending on who the violation was against. It's the same with God. If we sin against God, our punishment will be eternal(in hell).

I also wonder why we call our "good deeds" good? The bible says"...No one is good--except God alone."- Luke 18:19 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."-John 15:5 We can do no good apart from God.

God bless,
Kay

People will do for a lie...

People will do for a lie, what Christians aren't willing to do for the truth.

I noticed an older gentleman sitting at a table handing out religious material. Upon further examination I realized he was a "jehovah's witness". It seemed as if he came there quite often and just sat all day and to be honest it upset me beyond how I thought it would.

My heart was so heavy for this poor man who was trying to earn his way into heaven (that's what JW believe). That he was there day after day earning "points" with God, hoping at the end of his life he would have enough.

That's not why I witness and that's not why the group of people I go out with share the gospel. See if you are in Jesus, you cannot earn ANYTHING!!! Jesus paid it all! All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow! Anything good we do, is from God doing it through us, which He prepared for us. See everything is about God! It's not about us. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."- Ephesians 2:10

We do it because we love Jesus and we love others that we don't want them to perish. And also, God commands Christians to share their faith. It's so confusing to me how Christians will not get off the couch to do anything or to share their faith when we have the truth! And millions of cult members share their faith with everything they have, and for a lie sending people straight to hell.

"therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”- Matthew 9:38

Can you ever STOP sharing the truth?

So I'm not sure how many of my readers know this but I'm not a missionary. I don't do this full time and I don't get paid to do it or through a church or anything like that. It's just a random group of people coming together to share the gospel with strangers.

That being said I do have a professional job in my "other life". And I get criticized quite often for sharing my faith in business. I even get criticized by other Christians... So it really makes me ponder the whole thing and think about is there ever a time you can just "turn off" your beliefs? Is it more appropriate to not say anything at all when we have the opportunity to? This is something I'm wrestling with I guess.  But if people are criticizing Tebow, then they will do it to me as well ;)

Reflecting & the world of evangelism...

I really have no words for how awesome this summer was and how much God has blessed me to serve! Two years ago, I never could have even IMAGINED God would call me to go and preach the gospel to complete strangers in one of the most sinful places on the east cost (seaside heights).

I remember going to that same boardwalk as a teenager and used to call myself an atheist and I honestly hated the things of God. How I wish that someone would have shared the gospel with me then, as it would have saved me a lot of grief for my sins. Flashbacks set in as all the stupid things we used to do on that boardwalk. But how much God has saved me from, I will never know... Furthermore, I cannot believe I get to serve with my wonderful husband who God has truly blessed me with! Like I said, I never could have imagined what God has done in my life and how much He changed me!

The other thing I noticed was how utterly MISERABLE the people there were. It seemed like a "happy" place because of the rides and games. But everyone there was searching and their souls were lost and you can tell by their faces. They kept trying to fill the gap in their heart with drinking and drugs and partying, but were never filled.

It was really an adventure going on the boardwalk and I wasn't sure what to expect the first time we went out. If you don't think people hate God, then spend a night at the boardwalk saying the name of Jesus and sharing the gospel! People will look like they want to kill you!

Luckily we were not alone, I couldn't believe the numbers of other brothers and sisters in Christ that were there sharing the truth of Jesus alone! I've never noticed them before and was just amazed how God was sending His disciples...

We spoke with probably hundreds of people but there were two major highlights for me during the summer. 1) I got hugged by a gang member whose name I believe was Kyle. It was an experience I will never forget as he really thought it was too late for him in life to be forgiven since he was in a gang and cut people. He said he had done too much wrong. My husband and I spoke with him to tell him it's never too late to repent and trust in Jesus and he said he would think about these things. A couple of minutes later, I saw Kyle approaching me again and he said something like "what you said meant a lot, can I have a hug". I was BLOWN AWAY COMPLETELY! It really meant a lot and I pray that God saves him.

2) On one of the last nights we were there, a large group of kids stopped by to chat. I found out they were from my hometown! My heart kind of dropped because I just pictured myself and it really hit home. One of the kids said "You know, I think God brought us here for a reason tonight!". I said "yes you are right! Let's get to the gospel!".

Overall, it was an AMAZING summer and really the best summer of my entire life! It's hard to imagine that only a few months later the entire place would be washed away in the ocean. God willing we will return again...

God can use anyone!

"Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."- 1 Corinthians 1:26-27

Saints, please pray for me I was struck with the flu pretty bad and have been out of it for almost a week :( I haven't been able to write much but would love to share one of my favorite videos of 2012.
